Children can often lack confidence in their own ideas and will sometimes hold back on sharing them in fear of what others might say or think. Some children believe they don’t have any good ideas. We know that’s simply not true, we all have great ideas and potential inside of us. Learning to use our imagination and to be curious is the first step to cultivating our creativity and innovation.
This course uses the power of story and fun, creative activities to help children believe in themselves. Brilliant ‘Billy the Bunny’ accompanies the children throughout the week to help them navigate their emotions in a fun and supportive environment.
Brilliant Me & My Ideas is specifically designed to help your child:
Each day, two stories are shared with the children based around the theme of creative thinking and ideas. Then, creative activities help them link the learning within the story to their everyday lives. Daily mindfulness activities are included to help the children learn to manage their emotions, as well as a daily ‘mission’ which is a simple task to help them embed their learning. Brilliant ‘Billy the Bunny’ accompanies the children throughout the week and is used to help the children talk about how they feel. Talking about how Billy might feel about sharing his ideas can sometimes be easier to do than talking directly about how it feels for us.
The stories shared in the Brilliant Me & My Ideas course are based around the following themes:
One of the books shared on the course is ‘All the Ways to be Smart’ by Davina Bell. This brilliant book celebrates all the wonderful qualities that make children who they are. Being smart doesn’t just include reading, writing and maths… it also includes being creative, artistic and curious. The children listen to all the different ways to be smart listed in the book, including ‘building boats from boxes’ and ‘being mermaids and riding dragons’. After being inspired by the ideas in the book, the children are then invited to use the resources provided to run wild with their imagination and ideas. What will they create, build, invent, draw, paint?
Fun and fast paced learning! There will be a mixture of games, stories, and activities all delivered by Role Models who are experienced with working with this age range of children. There will be breaks built into the structure of the day including a 30 minute play during the lunch break.
Our courses are built on three elements:
We all have brilliant ideas inside of us, sometimes we need a little bit of help to learn how to help them get out and then what we should do with them! You’ll learn how to have fun with your imagination and all the wonderful things you can do when you learn to think creatively.
You are going to listen to some stories, play some games and learn new things to help you feel confident in sharing your BRILLIANT ideas.
This course is not designed just for children who struggle with thinking creatively; we believe it’s healthy for all children to develop their creativity as it’s such an important skill. Learning from a young age to believe in your ideas and understand your potential is essential when it comes to developing self-efficacy and confidence. We know that innovation, problem solving and creative thinking are key skills when it comes to school, home and your child’s future; what better way to nurture these skills than through inspiring stories and fun activities.
Our highly experienced team of Role Models are passionate about both education and social & emotional wellbeing. They’re energetic, engaging, and curious. They’re adept at combining educational rigour with fun, to create active learning environments that children love. All have been interviewed by our Recruitment Team and are reference and DBS checked.
Meet Brigid:
Parents will also be sent a list of all the story books shared throughout the course; you may wish to purchase any of the titles which have particularly resonated with your child to help revisit the themes.
The Role Models Life Skills programme includes 8 different courses for children in Years 1-6 (ages 5-7 & 8-11). These separate courses can be completed in any order, or on their own.
Our courses follow an education framework developed by teachers, education experts and business leaders. This framework, based on the work of the Partnership for 21st century learning, defines the skills and knowledge that children need to thrive at school, at home and beyond. Our courses have been written by our Character Education team who are highly qualified educators. Our course content emphasises the importance of developing life and career skills alongside academic attainment. You can read more about the other courses which we offer here and you can read more about the partnership for 21st Century learning here.

Mara - a Switzerland parent
The structure of the session was very helpful in warming up the kids, the selected stories were awesome and memorable, the teacher was fun and engaging, it was great for my daughter to hear the stories and experiences of other kids and realising how her difficulties are shared by others. A+++++
Lotte - a London parent
My son has made an excellent start to the new year at school and this is where I have noticed the impact of the course. His confidence is more secure and he is really trying at school and doing very well. The daily emails on the course were welcome, to know what he had done each day was very helpful
Amanda - a London parent
I just wanted to say another huge thank you for this session. I was so impressed with the way it was structured. You captured their attention immediately and the content was so relevant for my kids with some great take homes which we will hopefully work on embedding into the everyday.
Tessa - a London parent
This is wonderful, He is thoroughly enjoying the course. He was so positive and happy about the fact that he had started out drawing a zebra but it ended up being a Lion! I loved hearing this as I know he would usually have had a meltdown saying he’s got it all wrong!
Etta - a Saudi Arabia parent
She has been a lot more tolerant & better at problem solving in a mature manner especially with her younger sister.
Sally - a London parent
Can I just say that today’s session was absolutely brilliant! You kept my 6 year old son totally engaged and interactive the whole time - he was absolutely engrossed the entire session. He has been a nightmare to ‘home school’ this week but as you ended the session today, he asked for more! Great work!! Thank you!
Claire - a London parent
My daughter is a smart cookie but this course helped her think beyond booksmarts, beyond facts in books and Google to what is possible. Thank you for developing her confidence in the application of her knowledge and seeing where the implementation of her creativity takes her.
Gail - a London parent
She said she wished school was like this. She absolutely loved it. Thank you.
