Leadership is being able to support, encourage and motivate others to achieve a shared goal. It is also about having a positive impact on those around us. To work well with others, we must first learn to identify and understand our own emotions, strengths and weaknesses. This self-awareness allows us to make the best contribution and recognise the feelings, needs and strengths of those we work with.
The course is designed to develop an awareness of what great leadership looks like and why. The course includes fun activities which encourage the children to explore different ways of working together. They will be encouraged to reflect on the power of connection, listening and developing trust and respect amongst the people you lead.
The course is designed to develop an awareness of what great leadership looks like and why. The week includes fun activities which encourage the children to explore different ways of working together and leading others. They will be encouraged to reflect on the power of connection, listening and developing trust and respect amongst the people you lead. activities include exploring leadership language and taking it in turns to lead the team in completing timed challenges, many of which involve being blindfolded!
Session 1: Leadership & a growth mindset
What is leadership? Do you see yourself as a leader? What does good leadership look like and how is a growth mindset important?
Session 2: Strengths & the importance of listening
What are your super strengths and how are you using them to lead others? What does active listening look like?
Session 3: Empathy & Being a Leader
What is empathy and why is it important. How can we practise empathy in everyday situations?
Our courses are fast-paced, high energy and challenging. Your child will be active, engaged and up on their feet. None of the tasks are easy; in fact, we don’t mind if the children struggle with the exercises at the first attempt. It is through this process that resilience and strength of character can be built, in a positive and supportive environment.
Our courses are built on three elements:
You will learn all about leadership and explore the types of skills and attributes that allow us to effectively lead others. Do you see yourself as a leader? We will explore ‘everyday leadership’ and the impact we can have on others. You will also reflect on your own personal strengths and how you use these to lead.
Our courses are not designed specifically for children who struggle with leadership; we believe everyone should be developing this important life skill. Perhaps your child has great leadership potential but lacks the opportunity to demonstrate and develop it further. The course is a great opportunity for someone who may already be a ‘natural leader’ but needs to develop their empathy and ability to understand the impact of their actions on others. Developing the skills of collaborating and communicating with others can boost general self-confidence and self-awareness. The course is also a great way for children to explore being outside of their comfort zone within a fun and supportive environment.
Our highly experienced team of Role Models are passionate about both education and social & emotional wellbeing. They’re energetic, engaging, and curious. They’re adept at combining educational rigour with fun, to create active learning environments that children love. All have been interviewed by our Recruitment Team and are reference and DBS checked.
Meet Brigid:
The Role Models Life Skills programme includes 8 different courses for children in Years 1-6 (ages 5-7 & 8-11). These separate courses can be completed in any order, or on their own.
Our courses follow an education framework developed by teachers, education experts and business leaders. This framework, based on the work of the Partnership for 21st century learning, defines the skills and knowledge that children need to thrive at school, at home and beyond. Our courses have been written by our Character Education team who are highly qualified educators. Our course content emphasises the importance of developing life and career skills alongside academic attainment. You can read more about the other courses which we offer here and you can read more about the partnership for 21st Century learning here.
Yes we do! You can either book a standard day (10am – 3pm) or an extended day (8.30am until 6pm). Our course content will only run between the hours of a standard day. Outside of these hours, one of our Creative Childcare Role Models will join the children to run extra-curricular games and activities.
You can select which days you extend based on your needs, as extended hours are charged per day, at £25. Please note: if you select an extended day, you can collect your children before 6pm, but will still be charged for the full day. Please book a standard day at the checkout and then call us to add the extended day package on +44 20 3637 7107 or email [email protected]

Sophie - a London parent
It began a discussion about the way others react to our mistakes and how to forgive the mistakes parents make sometimes. We are both really pleased to see him really coming out of his shell. I don't think you have any idea how much of a life-saver the things you are teaching him are.
Mara - a Switzerland parent
The structure of the session was very helpful in warming up the kids, the selected stories were awesome and memorable, the teacher was fun and engaging, it was great for my daughter to hear the stories and experiences of other kids and realising how her difficulties are shared by others. A+++++
Lotte - a London parent
My son has made an excellent start to the new year at school and this is where I have noticed the impact of the course. His confidence is more secure and he is really trying at school and doing very well. The daily emails on the course were welcome, to know what he had done each day was very helpful
Amanda - a London parent
I just wanted to say another huge thank you for this session. I was so impressed with the way it was structured. You captured their attention immediately and the content was so relevant for my kids with some great take homes which we will hopefully work on embedding into the everyday.
Tessa - a London parent
This is wonderful, He is thoroughly enjoying the course. He was so positive and happy about the fact that he had started out drawing a zebra but it ended up being a Lion! I loved hearing this as I know he would usually have had a meltdown saying he’s got it all wrong!
Sally - a London parent
Can I just say that today’s session was absolutely brilliant! You kept my 6 year old son totally engaged and interactive the whole time - he was absolutely engrossed the entire session. He has been a nightmare to ‘home school’ this week but as you ended the session today, he asked for more! Great work!! Thank you!
Claire - a London parent
My daughter is a smart cookie but this course helped her think beyond booksmarts, beyond facts in books and Google to what is possible. Thank you for developing her confidence in the application of her knowledge and seeing where the implementation of her creativity takes her.
Gail - a London parent
She said she wished school was like this. She absolutely loved it. Thank you.
