Children can often struggle to manage their big emotions and feelings; they may not be able to articulate how they feel or even recognise the exact emotion they are experiencing. This course is about developing your child’s emotional vocabulary and awareness. Taking the time to connect with how we feel and to understand our emotions without judgement, allows us to respond from a place of control rather than being overcome by big emotions.
Each online Brilliant Me Course includes access to additional exciting activities for your child to do independently at any point during their day/week. Each of these is designed to be a fun distraction from what is going on around them. These activity sheets will be emailed to you along with a summary of the content shared during the online session each day. At the end of the week you will also be sent three follow up videos to help embed your child’s learning. Please watch these with your child in your own time and discuss the themes. These videos can be re-watched at any time to help revisit the learning and continue to develop your child’s confidence.
Brilliant Me & My Feelings is specifically designed to help your child:
This course uses the power of story and fun, creative activities to help children believe in themselves. Brilliant ‘Billy the Bunny’ accompanies the children throughout the week to help them navigate their emotions in a fun and supportive environment.
The 90 minute sessions will be run on a software called Zoom. The children will need to have access to a device that has the internet, runs PowerPoint and facilitates the use of audio and camera (webcam).
Information on Zoom Software
Please note that a free Zoom account and Zoom client software for PC, Mac or Linux is required in order to participate in these sessions. If you have not used Zoom before, please use these links to learn how to download the necessary software and then register an account;
(You can register with your name/email as the parent as during the first session it is possible to change the name displayed on the camera screen to your child’s)
Other notes on the online course:
More information will be shared in our pre-course email, which you will receive towards the end of the week before the course starts.
Each day a story is shared with the children based around the theme of recognising and responding to a range of different feelings. Then, creative activities help them link the learning within the story to their everyday lives. Daily mindfulness activities are included to help the children learn to manage their emotions, as well as a daily ‘mission’ which is a simple task set to challenge them to embed their learning. Brilliant ‘Billy’ the bunny accompanies the children throughout the week and is used as a distancing tool; talking about certain feelings Billy might have can sometimes be easier to do than talking directly about our own emotions.
The stories shared in the Brilliant Me & My Feelings course are based around the following themes:
We all have big feelings and sometimes these feelings can be hard to understand or might feel like they’re too big to handle. We will find out about simple ways to manage our feelings; whether it’s feeling angry, sad or worrying…all feelings are normal!
You are going to listen to some stories, play some games and learn new things to help you feel your happiest, most confident and BRILLIANT self.

Meet Brigid:
This course is not designed just for children who openly struggle with their big emotions, we believe it’s healthy for all children to explore the power of their feelings; which ones they experience, how they feel, and how to respond to them. This helps to build emotional awareness, empathy and puts the foundations in place for children to be able to express their wants, needs and feelings effectively. We see this as an important part of building positive relationships, understanding ourselves and being aware of the impact we have on others. The course provides a much needed opportunity to stop and reflect on how we feel, and it helps to build the children’s vocabulary in order to talk about their feelings.
The Role Models Life Skills programme includes 8 different courses for children in Years 1-6 (ages 5-7 & 8-11). These separate courses can be completed in any order, or on their own.
Our courses follow an education framework developed by teachers, education experts and business leaders. This framework, based on the work of the Partnership for 21st century learning, defines the skills and knowledge that children need to thrive at school, at home and beyond. Our courses have been written by our Character Education team who are highly qualified educators. Our course content emphasises the importance of developing life and career skills alongside academic attainment. You can read more about the other courses which we offer here and you can read more about the partnership for 21st Century learning here.

Thanks for this follow up email, Alma greatly enjoyed the session yesterday - it was entertaining, well-paced and illuminating, and although English is Alma’s second language she managed to understand everything and express herself. Please say thank you again to Louise for her encouragement and inspiration.

It taught me to be confident in the classroom and put my hand up and not worry if I say something wrong!
Sally - a London parent
Can I just say that today’s session was absolutely brilliant! You kept my 6 year old son totally engaged and interactive the whole time - he was absolutely engrossed the entire session. He has been a nightmare to ‘home school’ this week but as you ended the session today, he asked for more! Great work!! Thank you!
Tessa - a London parent
This is wonderful, He is thoroughly enjoying the course. He was so positive and happy about the fact that he had started out drawing a zebra but it ended up being a Lion! I loved hearing this as I know he would usually have had a meltdown saying he’s got it all wrong!
Amanda - a London parent
I just wanted to say another huge thank you for this session. I was so impressed with the way it was structured. You captured their attention immediately and the content was so relevant for my kids with some great take homes which we will hopefully work on embedding into the everyday.
Lotte - a London parent
My son has made an excellent start to the new year at school and this is where I have noticed the impact of the course. His confidence is more secure and he is really trying at school and doing very well. The daily emails on the course were welcome, to know what he had done each day was very helpful
Hana - a Jordan parent
Hashem is in the middle of his class and he is absolutely LOVING it!
Ella - Online course participant
It was very helpful and exciting, it taught me about comfort zones and growth mindset. I found the comfort zones to be the most helpful, I will use the learning when I try something new. I thought learning online was very good because it was exciting to use. It was also good to learn to deal with situations.
