About us

Do you have a passion for helping children maximise their potential? Does the prospect of a pivotal role in a dynamic, young company at the cutting edge of developing children’s life skills excite you?

Role Models is an impact driven education provider. We focus on life skills that promote social & emotional wellbeing and dynamic thinking, helping young people to thrive in life; both at home and in their future workplace.

We complement traditional academic education by delivering online & offline courses for 3-13 year olds that develop young peoples’ skills in leadership, confidence, resilience, creative problem solving, collaboration and growth mindset. These skills really impact the everyday lives of the young people we work with.

The Role

We are currently taking on a big new project, to become one of the providers for the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme. This is a programme run by multiple boroughs around the country and funded by the government. It's aim is to provide unique opportunities to children who are eligible for free school meals, whose families would not usually be able to afford them, over the school holidays. We provided our courses as part of the Hillingdon HAF programme this summer and it was a fantastic success. We therefore want to expand into as many areas of the country as possible. That is where you come in, we want someone to lead the expansion of this offering and make it a success. The role is also likely to involve supporting the wider operation team with other projects, too.

This opportunity will suit someone who is a proactive, self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives on challenge and has a track record of delivering excellent results. You must be an organised, diligent “doer” who has a passion for working with people, an eye for detail and who is constantly looking for solutions. You will need to be able to multi-task and communicate well.

Running and expanding the HAF programme will involve:

  • Filing application forms in a timely manner to each borough, with the intention of winning bids to become a provider for them during the next holiday period
  • Liaising with HAF co-ordinators across multiple boroughs to ensure we meet their standards
  • Finding suitable venues to run our courses in and building relationships with these counterparts
  • Setting up these courses on our website and in our CRM system
  • Liaising with parents regarding course logistics, pre during and post course
  • Facilitating a smooth customer journey by ensuring follow-up emails, reports, and surveys to parents of participants are sent timely and in impeccable quality
  • Recruiting volunteers across the country to support on these courses (we usually target 6th forms and colleges) and potentially helping to recruit Role Models too.
  • Training and supporting our teachers in the logistics and CRM system (they will be trained on the content by our Education Team)
  • Overseeing the finances and reporting on all KPI's involved
  • Overseeing the outsourcing of delivering of a hot lunch to all children on the courses
  • Ordering, packing and unpacking course resources
  • Editing, printing and collating documents for staff, marketing material and other

The Nitty Gritty

Our offices are on Stormont Road, Battersea, SW11 5EN but, at the moment, we’re spending 2 days/week working from the office and 3 days/week working from home.

Role Models is only 7 years old so the team is relatively small but well-formed and great fun! We have recently closed a £915k funding round with a view to aggressive expansion both online and offline over the next few years, so there is lots of work and you will need to be up for a challenge.

We have 9 full-time employees and 4 outsourced part-time employees. As a result, you would have the opportunity to make a huge difference to the trajectory of this growing business and would be given significant responsibility.

As we are a small and exciting growth business, we pride ourselves on providing a seamless service to our clients. This will on occasion result in a need to communicate at weekends, whether with clients or other members of the team.

We’re also very proud to have been ranked in the ‘top 100 organisations to escape to’ in both 2019 and 2020!
