Abi is currently studying for her BA in Music at the University of Bristol. She loves the theatre and has received vocal training (specifically in classical voice) for the last ten years – a passion which she is able to further at university.
Alongside her degree, she loves to cook and runs a small Instagram page where she posts food inspiration, recipes, cooking hacks and advice on how to maintain a positive and healthy relationship with food.
Abi has always enjoyed working with children of all ages. She has experience of formal education, working in a primary school as a teaching assistant during the latter months of the first lockdown, and informal education, staffing numerous residential summer camps and community programmes, so is confident in (and has a proven record of) building positive trusting relationships with young people. She has had a variety of experiences, from offering 1-1 classroom support /tutoring to working with large groups of upto 30 children, and more recently managing over 30 staff members on a residential programme.
Abi is deeply passionate about creating a safe space for young people and helping them learn how to build healthy and strong relationships with their mental health. She currently works as a campus Equalities and Wellbeing Officer, so she is experienced in offering pastoral care, building trusting relationships and tackling/openly discussing mental health.
