The Role

This opportunity will suit someone who is a proactive, self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives on challenge and has a track record of delivering excellent results. You must be an organised, diligent “doer” who has a passion for working with people, an eye for detail and who is constantly looking for solutions. You will need to be able to multi-task and communicate well.

Reporting to the Director of Character Education, you will be supporting the team in a number of different ways, including but not limited to:

  • Assessing the company’s staffing needs (our ‘Role Models’) – how many we need and when we need a recruitment drive
  • Finding websites / groups / schools to post our job descriptions and/or to present at to help recruit more Role Models and volunteers
  • Inviting Role Models to assessment days and then supporting or leading the delivery of assessment days
  • Managing the onboarding of our Role Models to ensure they’re clear on our company ethos, processes and excited to start working
  • Recruitment admin, arranging interviews and organising applications received
  • Overseeing the onboarding process for new role models setting up their profile and approving DBS applications
  • Supporting new role models with our online work making sure they are fully prepared and ready
  • Liaising with the Education Team on feedback and support for new & existing role models
  • Manage Role Models’ ‘happiness’, collecting feedback and insights into availability issues and any issues around the role
  • During times when recruitment is quiet, being ready to support the Education Team and Operations Team
  • Supporting the day-to-day running and functionality of the office and our online sessions and courses
  • Creating a great work ethic within the team

Traits we’re looking for

  • Excellent communication skills over the phone and in person and your English is close to perfect
  • Good attention to detail and well organised
  • A fun and friendly team player
  • Someone who can be supportive to our Role Models yet also challenge them in a healthy way when needed
  • A solutions focused approach and a readiness for new ways of doing things to improve existing systems
  • We pride ourselves on providing a seamless service to our clients. The successful candidate may on occasion need to be accessible remotely outside core hours
  • Added plus but not a must: digitally savvy, with good working knowledge of MS Excel, WordPress, Dropbox, GoCardless, Stripe and Xero
  • A willingness to battle with the printer if required

The nitty gritty

We are looking for someone who can ideally start ASAP. Our offices are on Stormont Road, Battersea, SW11 5EN but of course, at the moment, we’re all working from home. In a post-Covid-19 world we envisage working in the office 3-4 days/week and working from home 1-2 days/week.

Role Models is only 6 years old so the team is relatively small but well-formed and great fun! We are currently closing a £1m funding round in June 2021 with a view to aggressive expansion both online and offline over the next few years, so there is lots of work and you will need to be up for a challenge.

We have 5 full-time employees and 4 outsourced part-time employees. As a result, you would have the opportunity to make a huge difference to the trajectory of this growing business and would be given significant responsibility.
