The Role

We are looking for an ambitious, creative and analytical Marketing Manager with a good knowledge across the marketing mix to join our team at Role Models. We are only seven years old as a brand, and this role represents the opportunity to join our team at a pivotal time as we grow our online product and expand globally. It’s a key role within the organisation, reporting to the Managing Director. Proven marketing management experience is essential, preferably in small to medium size B2C businesses.

The successful candidate will have a wide knowledge and experience of managing the entire marketing function. Capable of working at a strategic level as well as creating and managing tactical activities.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibility is to build and grow a funnel of leads and sales opportunities to help increase revenue, by:

  • Conducting market research to identify marketing focus.
  • Managing the strategic and tactical marketing plan and budget.
  • Working closely with sales, internal and external resource to build and manage lead generation campaigns.
  • Managing the brand and building recognition to ensure company standing in target markets as a market leader and thought leader.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Be key lead with our agency partners across Digital Advertising, Digital eCRM, PR and Influencer Marketing
  • Manage our Digital Marketing Intern in term of social media management and digital advertising production
  • Work collaboratively with our Sales team to develop exciting partnership strategies to drive sales globally
  • Work closely with our Director of Character Education to develop rich and engaging content
  • Weekly KPI reports on all marketing activity, accurate budget management and support the CMO on monthly board update presentations
  • Provide the business with a marketing budget forecast and report against budget monthly
  • Conduct ongoing market research to enable segmentation for targeted relevant marketing campaigns to each segment/sector
  • Create a comprehensive strategic and tactical marketing plan, based on the existing business, targets and market research, to generate increased sales levels. Regularly review and refine with senior management
  • Lead development of the website to maximise data capture and lead generation
  • Manage the marketing database, to be the basis for campaign target data for lead generation
  • Manage and create appropriate content for a variety of channels, including website, social media, email marketing, event sponsorship
  • Managing web content and maximise for lead generation
  • Manage and organise creation of all other collateral, such as campaign themes, case studies, white papers and educational videos
  • Identifying and measuring marketing outcomes to increase the efficiency of marketing activities within the company. Produce actual and forecast lead volumes
  • Developing a long-term plan for the development of organisation’s brand
  • Attend agency meetings, marketing events and internal/board meetings
  • Managing PR resource and activity. Coordinating all media contacts and ensuring that the company consistently gets print and digital coverage

  • A passion for marketing and love every aspect of it from strategy, through to asset creation, activation and performance review
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Skills to analyse and monitor trends in the market
  • Proficiency with CRM / ECRM tools such as Klaviyo
  • Familiarity with social media development strategies and online content marketing
  • Familiarity with digital ad campaigns and some knowledge on how to to run these
  • An exceptional level of attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent IT, writing and editing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in writing, face to face and by phone

The Nitty Gritty

Our offices are on Stormont Road, Battersea, SW11 5EN but, at the moment, we’re spending 2 days/week working from the office and 3 days/week working from home.

Role Models is only 7 years old so the team is relatively small but well-formed and great fun! We have recently closed a £915k funding round with a view to aggressive expansion both online and offline over the next few years, so there is lots of work and you will need to be up for a challenge.

We have 9 full-time employees and 4 outsourced part-time employees. As a result, you would have the opportunity to make a huge difference to the trajectory of this growing business and would be given significant responsibility.

As we are a small and exciting growth business, we pride ourselves on providing a seamless service to our clients. This will on occasion result in a need to communicate at weekends, whether with clients or other members of the team.
