About Adoption Chatter

Adoption chatter is made up of a team of like minded individuals, that want to share all things adoption; the good, the difficult and the until recently not spoken about issues which affect adoptive families, adopters, adoptees and birth parents.

We are an inclusive bunch that come from various walks of life, and our team is made up of adopters, including LGBTQ, adoptees (some which have gone on to adopt themselves) and birth parents. We seek to make information and support accesible for all, providing a friendly and safe space for people to share or ask for advice.

Some of our team have experience with looked after children in residential care, and training in counselling and youth mental health first aid. Our aim is to give a voice to those who have been less heard in the adoption community, specifically adoptees, so that adopters and birth families can learn from lived experience how best to support their children in their new settings.
