Staffing policy

Ratios of staff to children;

Brilliant Me (5-7): 1 to 15

Life Skills (8-11 and 12-15): 1 to 15

We will aim to have a volunteer helping you on all courses, no matter booking numbers, but this cannot be guaranteed

No Role Model will ever deliver a course entirely alone at a venue, without any other adult at the venue

Please note that the below is based on courses being 5 hours long each day.

Please note;

• For Lead Course Role Models and Project Directors, £100 (incl. 12.07% stat. holiday pay, PAYE) of your pay is for admin work. This includes training time and any time taken to write reports etc.
• If you run a course in the UK, that is based outside of London and you hence are asked to stay in a hotel, you will be given £20/day food allowance (£30 if breakfast is not included in the accommodation) and we will pay for your transport to and from London and the hotel.
• Role Models Life Skills Limited will expense up to £20 for travel to/from a UK airport. We will pay for your travel if you are coming to/from The Devas Club in order to transport the resource suitcases.
• Role Models Life Skills Limited will pay for flights to International locations and Visas if required.
• If a course is run abroad, Role Models Life Skills Limited will pay for essential travel, to reach course venues or to buy food.
• For international courses you will also receive:
  • + £20/day food allowance (£30 if breakfast is not included in the accommodation). £20 for any half-days (i.e. travel days to/from the UK).
  • + £50 (incl. 12.07% stat. holiday pay, PAYE) for every non-working day e.g weekend and travel (in addition to the food allowance)
• Please see our Staff Cancellation Policy for details on what you will be paid if we cancel an in-person course after you have been officially confirmed.

Online Course and Session Pay;

Online 45 minute session - £20/session (incl. 12.07% stat. holiday pay, PAYE). A session includes all aspects of your Job Description. No pay for training.

Online 60 minute session - £25/session (incl. 12.07% stat. holiday pay, PAYE). A session includes all aspects of your Job Description. No pay for training.

If a session is cancelled < 24 hours before it is due to begin, or a child does not turn up to a session (on a session where there is only 1 child expected) then you are still entitled to submit a timesheet. If a child does not turn up to a session where there is only one child expected, then you are expected to keep the session running for the whole hour and complete the remaining time if they are to join later.

Other pay;

Extended day childcare role- £12/hour (incl. 12.07% stat. holiday pay, PAYE). For an offline course that runs from 10am - 3pm, Extended Day hours include hours outside of 10am - 3pm where you still have children on site.

Residential Courses - £1540/week (incl. 12.07% stat. holiday pay, PAYE) for the Project Director and £1050/week (incl. 12.07% stat. holiday pay, PAYE) for Lead Role Models, plus £150 (incl. 12.07% stat. holiday pay, PAYE) for training (normally 2 days of 10am - 4pm). Please note that this is an example rate of pay and different residentials will have different pay associated with them based on job requirements.

Please see your 'Job Description' for detailed information on what each role involves. Role Models Life Skills Limited reserves the right to dock or delay your pay if you do not meet the criteria outlined in the Job Description.
